Some of my favorite childhood memories are of Aunt Chi Chi. What was not to love about someone so full of life and so loving to those around her.
Serving now as a pastor in Sioux Falls where Kirsten grew up I still run into people who knew her when she lived here until shortly after WW2. Kirsten graduated from Augustana College where she sang in the choir. She served as a choir director in some of the area churches. One man from Valley Springs, SD shared fond memories of the time when she directed their church choir. "Oh, we had fun!"
Happy Birthday to you, Aunt Chi Chi.
PS- the picture of Kirsten and her friends is from her freshman year at Augustana College 1937. It was shared with me by Helen (Brumbaugh) Hanson, a member at my church and one of Kirsten's best friends. Kirsten is the one in the front, Helen the one in the middle.
